Yesterday afternoon I gave three one hour clinics on the occasion of the Dutch Open in Almere. The clinics were not given in the Sports Arena, where the matches were, but in a hall about 8 km further on.
During the clinics you get children aged 6 to 16 and then the trick is to make it a good instructive hour for everyone. Some are very enthusiastic, others are a bit shy and that makes it so fun and challenging to teach them the main tricks of the “badmintontrade”.Â
After the clinics, I briefly went to the arena to see the last matches of the day, but there really were no special matches. The men’s doubles between two Japanese couples was a good one and the match of Jie versus Ai Goto of Japan was, mainly in the first game, very exciting.
Today I have one day rest to recharge myself for the next training week, which will be pretty important. Tomorrow afternoon at 14:00 the court training at Papendal starts again using an expanded training schedule. Of course I will keep you informed during the week about my progress!
