Had a good week

The first week of the rehabilitation period lies behind me. As far as the badminton exercises were concerned it was just a boring week and it will be difficult to hold on, because these exercises I have to do are really very simple. Anyway, it’s for a good cause, because I really want to be back as soon as possible!

The court trainings were limited to running in fixed patterns and it will stay that way for the time being. In the exercises I use all the strokes we have in badminton but at a low intensity. Obviously the emphasis is on running and moving around while putting as little strain as possible on my knee. I have to refrain from jumping and I am
not really making miles on court. Racket exercises I do a lot because I have to train my shoulder intensively to avoid getting another injury.

Together with the physiotherapist, I discussed some extra exercises to make my legs stronger than they are now. Until now I do everything just using my own power but as from week 3 I may expect a tough power training program. Anyway, so far so good. Positive is that I’ve had no negative reaction in my knee and that’s very hopefull!
