The tournament started today with the qualification tournament and the first rounds in men’s singles. Also the time schedule is published. Tomorrow Dave and I will play our match at 12.55h.
Yesterday evening there was an openings dinner for all players and officials. Transport was arranged from our hotel to the Venetian hotel where we all needed to go. The organisation gave us a fantastic opening ceremony with dance, music and lots of food. Eleven dishes were waiting for us and some were even better than the others. We got for example delicious shrimps and shark soup, it was just perfect. There are worse ways to start a tournament.
Today we took it easy. At the end of the afternoon we had a training session. We did a game and a match with handicap: the back court was out because we had to prepare for the windy conditions in the arena.
