It was a short week of training, but I do not think anyone really cared.
Tuesday morning as early as 6.45 am the entire selection had to be in the Gelderse Vallei Hospital for a blood test by the team of doctor Peter Vergouwen. My God, that was early! Without having had something to eat or drink four of us drove to Ede in Dave’s new Rolls Royce. Six tubes of blood and twenty minutes later we were already outside and everyone was ready. In the evening I already got the results and what I hoped was confirmed….everything was just fine!
Wednesday evening we got the message that the Thursday training had been cancelled because of the predicted winter weather. So four days off, a nice surprise! To stay ahead of the forecasted weather I drove off right away. Ultimately it appeared not to be very bad on the road.
I am fully enjoying this Christmas break and I like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and an healthy, happy and sportive 2011!
