Today we lost our second group match against Singapore: 1-4. Dave and I scored the only point by beating the Asians in three games.
After the terrible match of yesterday we really wanted to play a good game. This morning I asked the coach the video tape of the match which the guys from Singapore played against Canada yesterday. I watched it together with Dave and we saw some important things.
In the first game Dave played very well and I had big problems finding my rhythm in my 20th interland match. Lucky for us the guys from Singapore were not that sharp as well and we won the first game with 21-11. In the second game I managed to improve my level. Especially the service and the third stroke, which we had noticed in the video, went well. We were leading all the time, had two matchpoints but two easy mistakes and two bad rallies cost us the second game. We had to begin from the start again.
Also in the final game we were leading but in the end of the game the Asians took the lead. Now they had two matchpoints but they could not make it as well. We managed to stay calm and when we got our 3rd matchpoint of this match we did it! I was very happy about it, because I felt we deserved this win so much!
Tomorrow evening around 7.15 pm we will play our final group match against Canada. Let’s go for it!
