Yesterday afternoon quite unexpectedly I went back to Mülheim to go and see the semi finals of the German Open. Koen gave me a telephone call and 10 minutes later we set off and went on our way to Germany. Unfortunately most matches were not that spectacular. What should have been the best one, was a bit disappointing. Lee and Jung completely outplayed Koo and Tan from Malaysia within 27 minutes with 9 and 11. So, Dave and I were not that bad at all when we played against them last week…..

Our opponents for coming week, Kim and Kim, were also playing a semi final against nr 1 seeded Ko and Yoo.
This Korean get-together was a beautiful match. Fantastic smashes and drop shots into the open spaces, high speed by all 4 of them, really incredible to look at. In the end the youngest pair won, but they will be the underdog in the finals against their much more experienced team mates.

This Tuesday Dave and I will have to play against these two in the qualification round and it will be very, very tough. We will do our utmost, like we did last Wednesday and hopefully we will play a good match again.
