Yesterday evening Team Van Zijderveld won with the maximum score of 8-0 against DKC from The Hague.
There was more good news for me. I managed to play a doubles match again without any pain in my knee after three weeks of being out of competition. I played the men’s doubles with Norbert van Barneveld. It was pretty cool to play with him because Norbert and I have known eachother for a long time now. When I was young I often did some line judging in league matches for the team of Duinwijck my first club. Because of that I saw Norbert and his teammates playing from very nearby and I learned a lot from him and he knows that. That’s why it was a bit special for us to play together last night. We won our match in straight games.
De other matches were won quite easily by our team. It was superb to see how only fourteen years old Alida Chen won her match against Kimberly Gardien from DKC. She showed that she can become a very good ladies singles player.
Next week the match aginst Almere is on the programme. If it all goes right on trainings and my knee keeps on behaving well it is likely that the physio will allow me to play the Czech International tournament in Brno which starts Friday next. In that case I will not play in Almere next week. Tuesday I make the final decision and of course I will let you guys know.
