Chinese Taipei

Yesterday evening we arrived in Chinese Taipei, also known as Taiwan. It was a long journey. We left our hotel at 11.30h. People of the organisation brought us to the ferry terminal where we checked in for the ferry to the airport of Hong Kong. After a small hour we arrived at Hong Kong airport so we had to wait for a long time as our flight was scheduled to leave around 17.45h. Lucky enough the aiport is a big one with lots of shops and restaurants so the time went quite fast. Around 17.00h we were ready for boarding and we left right on time.

After an hour and a half we arrived in Taiwan. We got our luggage very quickly and the bus of the organisation was already waiting to bring us to our hotel. It would take about 30 minutes to drive to the hotel a lady of the organisation told us. Unfortunately it was already dark so we could not see much but we did see Taipei 101, the 2nd highest building of the world. This tower is 508 metres high and has 101 floors. Of course we will try to visit this giant building. When we arrived in the hotel we dropped our stuff and we went to the nearest restaurant. Before I fell asleep I saw a documentary of the Japanese single player Kenichi Tago on television and after that the finals of Macau were shown. Also in this country badminton is very popular.

Later today we will do some fitness exercises in the gym of the hotel and we will have a training session in the main hall. Keep on checking the site for more news from Taipei the coming days!
