Yesterday afternoon around 3.00 pm I arrived at our hotel in Paris which is more or less directly across the hall, so we couldn’t have had a better location. After a short rest and a small bite we had a training session at 6 pm. We were brought by bus to the training location which is next to the tennis courts of Roland Garros. Seen from the coach the Tennis park doesn’t look too large, and I think it is not surprising that the organization of this tennis tournament wants to expand it in the near future. The training went well and was concluded with some simple match practices and some footwork.
This morning we got an hour and a half to train in the Main Hall, the Pierre de Coubertin Stadium. At 10.30 AM it was already very hot in the hall, but I am quite used to that heat because of our stay in Asia from which we returned only two weeks ago.
For most Dutch players the tournament begins tomorrow, but not for me. The schedule for Tuesday is not there yet, so officially I do not know when I have to play and at what time. Hopefully I can tell you more tomorrow. I first will have a light training session then afterwards I will watch the matches of my teammates and of course I will try to cheer them to victory. Hopefully I will have a lot of good news to report tomorrow!
