I’m back in Holland. After a long journey, first from Taipei to Hong Kong and than from Hong Kong to Amsterdam, I arrived yesterday at Schiphol Airport at 7.30 AM.
Today I took it easy to get rid of the jetlag that such a trip in Asia entails. Tomorrow, I’ll start training again at Papendal because, as you know, on August 23rd the World Championships Individual Tournament will start in Paris. Today was the draw and to my great disappointment Dave and I have drawn for the third time in succession a top-10 couple. This time we are confronted with Lee Sheng Mu and Fang Chieh Min from Chinese Taipei. These guys have won no fewer than four tournaments in a row this summer. They began their round of victories at the Super Series in Singapore and Indonesia and than won the tournaments in Canada and the U.S. In the meantime they are fifth on the world ranking. So again, after Macau and Taipei a heavy task for us to make it one round further. There is nothing else we can do but to go for it again tomorrow at Papendal, and to try in Paris to offer a bit more resistance to players of this calibre.
